Committed to My Community. Focused on the Future.
By Assemblyman Ravi Bhalla
Serving the people of the 32nd District is a privilege I do not take lightly. My district, located in the heart of Hudson County, is home to Hoboken and parts of Jersey City, reflecting a vibrant mix of neighborhoods, small businesses, and growing communities along New Jersey’s waterfront.
Having been elected mayor of Hoboken - the first Sikh mayor in New Jersey - in 2017, I had a large role in the city’s transformation. During my tenure as mayor, I achieved enormous success in pedestrian and transportation safety. I was proud to oversee the implementation of the Hoboken’s Vision Zero initiative and the city’s impressive record of eight years without a traffic fatality.
I also fought for the issues that matter most to working families. And I’m excited to bring that energy to Trenton and work with my colleagues in the Legislature to deliver real, meaningful progress for communities across New Jersey. I am using my experience as mayor to shape my approach to state leadership, grounding my work in practical, community-focused solutions.
As a longtime public servant, I have always prioritized issues such as affordable housing, environmental sustainability, and access to quality public education. Using an approach that emphasizes collaboration and forward-thinking policies, I hope to address both immediate needs and long-term challenges.
I take pride in being accessible and responsive, and I work hard to maintain close ties with my constituents by regularly engaging with local organizations, small businesses, and civic leaders. My leadership is rooted in a deep understanding of our district’s unique character and a clear vision for its continued growth and prosperity.
As Assemblyman, I will continue to advocate for policies that strengthen families, support economic development, and promote fairness across New Jersey, ensuring that the 32nd Legislative District remains a vibrant place to live and work.
